Little things.

For FHE we had Keaton say the opening prayer. I would say a phrase and he would try to copy it only for it to sound like, "Deet deet, happy.....deet.....deet house....amen." So cute! He really tries. Carter was watching The Wizard of OZ at Grandma Winnie's and he turned and looked at me and said, "Mom, they are little because they didn't eat their dinner all gone!" I told him that he was correct and that's why he needed to eat his dinner all gone. I love it when things work out in my favor. I had made mac n cheese for dinner last night for the boys while I cut Derrek's hair. Unannounced to me, the boys didn't touch their dinner and went straight for desert. They got all kinds of popsicles and ice cream sandwiches while I wasn't looking. Little stinkers!

I am clamming up!

Carter brought home a small clam three days ago from playing outside with one of his friends. His friend told him that they eat apples and that there is a snail inside. So Carter found an apple and put the clam on top of the apple "to eat." He couldn't figure out why it wasn't eating. He carried that clam around for two days telling EVERYONE that there was a snail inside. So later that night I had a dream that the Carter opened up the clam and Gary from SpongeBob came out of it. Well, yesterday he took it to preschool to ask his teacher what clams eat. She told him little tiny seeds in the water. I picked up Carter from preschool and he had found a little piece of green leaf to feed the snail. On the way to the store he said, "Mom what stinks?" I told him that I didn't know but maybe he should smell his hands. "Yup mom my hands stink." I told him it was from holding that clam for the last three days. He wanted to bring the clam into Bashas with him but I told him to leave it in the car. Eventually, it got bumped or something and it is lost somewhere in my car... I can't wait for the smell to be radiating from my car!

Boys will be Boys!

In the words of my funny little cowboy Keaton, "Yeet Haw!" Last Sunday during sharing time Carter was his normal ever eager self. Jason and I teach the CTR class right above him so we get to watch him enjoy sharing time. One of the counselors in the primary asked the kids "What happens when you turn eight?" Carter shot up his hand and he knew the answer to this question and he said, "You get a pocket knife!" Me and Jason turned and looked at each other and started bustin' up! He has been asking for a pocket knife forever! We keep on telling him he'll have to wait until he is eight and starts scouts. He always is asking how many more years until he is eight. This year he wants an ipod for his birthday. I told him no. That even if he was big like his aunt Katie I probably wouldn't let him have one. Which is always met with whining and stopping of the feet. I am such a mean mother! But he is growing up so fast he asked Jason last night to take the training wheels off of his bike that he got for Christmas. He is not scared of much, I think I was almost nine before my Dad forced me to take my training wheels off. What a boy!

Not much is going on at the Bryce household lately. This morning Carter would pick something up and Keaton would immediately start screaming because he wanted that exact toy. I believe that the boys are being tired of being cooped up from all the yucky weather. The weather warmed up a little bit today and I sent Carter out to play and get some of the wiggles out. Jason has been really good about letting the boys go to the farm with him after work to help with those wiggles. Leaving me to the house all alone! I love the quite time! I have to bribe Carter to go, but Keaton will throw a fit if he doesn't get to go. Lately, Carter has been trying to be the "boss" and boss me around and give me choices to choose between, which is very irritating most days. Keaton has new words every day that I didn't even know he knew. That's about it.

Project

This is our new t.v. amour that I refinished. I got it from a repo, and was originally from the Belagio hotel. So I distressed it and antiqued it.

This was the end result and it took me about a week to do. It was a neat project to follow, but alot of work! I like it though. It is totally my style. Now I want to paint my walls a gray with a tint of green in it, but I would have to have Jason's help and he is anti-painting anything! So I think I will sit still for a bit.

CHRISTMAS 2009

The best part of Christmas is the first time the kids come around the corner and see the presents Santa left! Only second to our Christmas parade down the hall, you can feel the excitement in the air!
