First Day Venice Beach
We landed in L.A. on Thursday and checked into our hotel and headed off to Venice Beach. Well it is only suppose to be like a 30 minute drive to Venice but it ended up like 2 hours trying to find our way there! We printed maps off with the direct routes and followed the directions but we still got lost! The L.A. roads and freeways are so screwy its easy to be totally disoriented and lost, plus its filthy with trash and graffiti everywhere. Anyhoo! We finally arrived and it ended up being a really fun time. We saw some "weird ducks" there. One guy was sitting out in front of the medicinal marijuana center and was telling his hippie friends in his very relaxed "xuam" state that he was sent here by God to talk to the birds. Another guy was wearing homemade rollerblades with a turban playing his electric guitar. I plug my nose every time I walked by just in case of second hand marijuana smoke! Very fun place to people watch! But we got there a little late and had to leave because we didn't want to be there after dark. The crazies might get crazier. We went back to the hotel and crashed, it had been a long day.
